Forest and Forest Products Research Institution (FFPRI) is organizing the COP30 Seminar as follows.
COP30 Japan Pavilion Seminar
ROLES OF FOREST IN CLIMATE CRISIS
ROLES OF FOREST IN CLIMATE CRISIS
Date
14th Nov. 2025 (Fri) 14:00-15:15 (Brazilian Time)
(Japan Time: 15th Nov. 2025 (Sat) 02:00-03:15)
Purpose of the Event
As we enter an era of climate crisis, large-scale meteorological disasters are occurring worldwide. As seen in discussions under the Kyoto Protocol, REDD-plus, and the Paris Agreement, forests are expected to mitigate climate change by absorbing atmospheric carbon. Simultaneously, as the impacts of climate change become more apparent, expectations are growing for their role in adaptation, such as disaster risk reduction.
This seminar aims to bring together speakers from international organizations, policymakers, NGOs, and research institutions to discuss the roles forests can play in the era of climate crisis, focusing on the perspectives of forest conservation and utilization.
