International Workshop REDD+: A New Framework for Conservation of Tropical Forests - Monitoring, Biodiversity and Practices
Objective
REDD+ is highlighted as a new framework for reducing CO2 emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. REDD+ is also expected to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and improvement of livelihood of local and indigenous communities. A ministerial-level talks concerning REDD+ will be held during the 10th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. This international workshop aims to deepen understand on REDD+ through presentations by experts while focusing on forest carbon monitoring, synergy to biodiversity conservation and current REDD+ practices.
